GENERAL

Where will the race take place?
The race will take place at Shangri-la at the Fort, Manila.

When will the race take place?
The first race will start from 9:30am on Sunday,  9th July 2017.

What type of race is this and what is the distance?

  • Elite participants will climb 59 floors.
  • Team Challenge will climb 59 floors (Team of 4 runners)
  • Full Challenge participants will climb 59 floors.
  • Horizon Challenge participants will climb 37 floors.
  • Fun Climb participants will climb 20 floors.

Who can participate in the run?
The race is open to the public and the categories comprise of elite, amateurs and teams.

  • The minimum age entry is 18 years old for the Elite, Full and Team Challenge category.
  • The minimum age entry is 14 years old for the Horizon Challenge category.
  • The minimum age entry is 10 years old for the Fun Climb category.

Is this a good race for first-timers?
Although challenging, this race is achievable for most people and can be completed by walking as there is no cut-off time. However, we strongly recommend training for this event for first-timers or even if you are an experienced runner but have never done this particular race before.

What is the weather in July like in Manila?
Generally, the temperature in Manila in July is between 25 to 33 Degrees Celsius.

When will registration open?
Online registration will commence on Thursday, 20 April 2017.

Do you accept cash payments?

When is the registration deadline?
Deadline for online registration will be 11:59pm (Manila time), 25 June 2017 or when the quota for registration is full.

How do I know if I am registered?
You will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours of registering for the event. If you did not receive this email, contact us at manila@sportingrepublic.com.

What are your refund and transfer policies?
There will be no refunds and no transfers (giving up your entry to another person).

How do I register as an Elite Athlete?
Participation in the Elite Category is by invitation only. For consideration, elite athletes should submit a request to manila@sportingrepublic.com by 19 June 2017, along with your running biography covering events over the past 2 years.

Manila Ninoy Aquino Int’l Airport is approximately 10km from Shangri-la at the Fort. Manila.

What hotels do you recommend for the event?
Shangri-la at the Fort, Manila is the Official Hotel for the event.


BEFORE THE RACE

What do I need to bring with me in order to pick up my Race Kit?
You need to bring your Confirmation E-mail (printed or digital copy) and your photo ID.


RACE DAY

What time does my wave start on race day?
Organisers will announce the race day schedule soon after registrations close. The event is expected to start at 8:30am and finish by 2:00pm.

What can I do with my bag?
Baggage facilities will be provided for participants. If you do plan to use this service, please bring an inexpensive bag and leave your valuables at home. We will not be responsible for lost or missing items.

Where do I place my Race Bib?
Your race bib should be properly secured using safety pins and must be displayed on your front throughout the race.

Will the race start in waves or all at the same time?
Participants will be flagged off in waves of around 10-15 participants each, depending on the number of entries in each category.

Will there be water available?
Yes, there will be water available for participants at 6/F, Finish Area and 2 points along the course.

Will you have a Lost & Found in case I lose something on race day?
Yes, the Lost & Found will be at the information desk for items that are missing on race day.

Can my family and friends watch me race?
Start Area: Yes, spectators will be allowed to watch the start at the non-restricted area of the 2/F Lobby.
Finish Area: The finish area is restricted to the general public.


AFTER THE RACE

Where is the prize presentation held?
Prize Presentation will take place at The Arena, 6/F of Kerry Sports Manila.

Who receives awards?

  • The top 3 finishers in each Full Challenge and the top team in the Team Challenge.
  • There are no prizes for the Horizon Challenge & Fun Climb category.

Where can I find race photos?
Race photos will be available soon after race day on the event website.

Where can I find my race results?
Provisional race results will be published on the event website within 24 hours from the end of the last race.
